After having a colostomy surgery, I had a hard time living my life. Fortunately, after this long stay of four weeks, I discovered how to use, treat, and replace my colostomy bags and the ostomy support belt. There have been no more encouraging conversations to build trust in how easy it is to live together and manage a colostomy. Here are some tips for staying active and healthy with colostomy belts from my experience.

Consider Having a Healthy Eating

At first, I ate a few meals in the hope that the food would ensure that the stoma bag was filled with as little waste as possible, but this was not as advisable as I had to eat well. Then I realized that I should continue to eat, but that I should take advantage of some changes.

It would help if you also avoid soft drinks and snacks. It is also necessary to eat foods mixed at breakfast and dinner and consist of mixtures of fruits, vegetables, and nuts. But I followed a straightforward diet and ate many foods that I like, but in moderation.

Adapt the Way You Sleep

I understand that we can not sleep well in the first few days. My suggestion would be to know that you sleep on your side. You have to get used to sleeping on your side. Also, no matter what it takes, we have to sleep regularly.

Sleep is essential for our well-being. While we sleep, your brain takes care of our daily work’s wastefulness while hammering the neural nets and readjusting them so that they can function fully when we wake up. You should maintain the tendency to have a strong 7-9 hour sleep. If you have trouble falling asleep, then you should maintain your sleeping habits with your TV, laptop, cell phone, and other devices and allow your brain a real period of inactivity.

Have Fun With Your Friends and Relatives

If you feel that you don’t have to satisfy unique people at a party or in a shopping mall, you could travel to a relaxing and quiet place like the mountains, beaches or campsites. In such cases, you should carry a sufficient number of colostomy bags in your luggage. So if it starts to smell, you can replace it with a new one.
